Jamie Thompson is an associate in the firm’s Nashville office. Mr. Thompson focuses his practice in the areas of general civil litigation, transportation, labor and employment, and education.

Jamie Thompson is an associate in the firm’s Nashville office. Mr. Thompson focuses his practice in the areas of general civil litigation, transportation, labor and employment, and education.

Mr. Thompson is a Nashville native and a graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Law. He graduated with a concentration in Advocacy & Dispute Resolution. During law school, Mr. Thompson served on Transactions: The Tennessee Journal of Business Law as a staff editor earning a publication during his second year of law school.  He joined the journal’s Editorial Board as a research editor in his third year. Mr. Thompson was also a member of the College of Law’s National Trial team for two consecutive years and served on the Moot Court Board’s Executive Board.

While in law school, Mr. Thompson worked as a graduate assistant for the University of Tennessee’s Office of Student Conduct & Community Standards where he investigated and adjudicated hundreds of student behavioral and academic misconduct claims. He also clerked with a boutique management-side labor and employment firm in Atlanta, Georgia. He completed an externship with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Tennessee and clerked for the Tennessee Attorney General’s Office.

Prior to law school, Mr. Thompson earned a Master of Public Policy and Administration degree with a concentration in Management. Throughout his course of study, he worked as a graduate research assistant for the University’s Center for Health Education & Wellness focusing on alcohol and other drug education through both prevention and intervention initiatives. To meet his objectives, he collaborated with various campus and Knoxville community stakeholders committed to improving student community wellness and the student experience at the University.

Mr. Thompson also earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Tennessee. While pursuing his undergraduate education, Mr. Thompson interned for a Tennessee Congressman at the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C. and interned for the 109th Tennessee General Assembly.

In his spare time, Mr. Thompson enjoys exploring new restaurants, weightlifting, and traveling.
