Christian Barker, Michael Holder and Kaycee Weeter join Lewis Thomason

We are pleased to welcome Christian Barker, Michael Holder and Kaycee Weeter to Lewis Thomason.

Christian Barker, Special Counsel, joined the Nashville office in May after nearly eight years as a solo practice entertainment attorney to help launch Lewis Thomason’s first foray into the entertainment law field.  Primarily music industry-focused, Christian provides transactional and litigation representation for artists, songwriters, producers, independent record labels, independent music publishing companies, and boutique artist management companies nationwide.  In addition, Christian represents clients in the TV/film, fine arts, and PR/digital media realms and manages the intellectual property portfolios of several small businesses—both in and outside of the entertainment space.  He also frequently handles family law matters involving disputed intellectual property assets.  Christian began his career in the music industry as an artist manager, where he managed the careers of country songwriter and recording artist Walker Hayes and former American Idol finalist and pop/RB/jazz recording artist Matt Giraud.  Outside of his practice, he remains active in the creative space as an A&R consultant providing talent scouting, song-plugging, and career advising services to numerous songwriters, artists, labels, and publishers.

Michael Holder is an associate in the firm’s Nashville office. Mr. Holder interned at the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Tennessee, The Tennessee Attorney General’s Office, and the District Attorney’s Office for Davidson County. While obtaining his J.D. from Belmont University College of Law he earned Best Performance Awards in Trial Advocacy, Advanced Trial Advocacy, Legal Writing and Research I and II, and Civil Procedure. He also won 1st place in Belmont’s Dean’s Cup Moot Court Competition and received the award for Best Oral Advocate in Region 7 at the National Moot Court Competition.

Kaycee Weeter is an associate in the Nashville office. As a member of the firm’s Healthcare Practice Group, she focuses on defending physicians, health care providers, and other health care entities in health care liability actions involving allegations of malpractice.  Outside of health care matters, Kaycee’s practice focuses on general insurance defense litigation. She is experienced in handling complex cases from pre-suit investigation through trial and appeal.
