Elle Shipley is an associate in the firm’s Knoxville office practicing in estate planning, probate law, tax law, and property law.  Ms. Shipley graduated from William & Mary Law School where she competed as a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Team and took on the role of Notes Editor for the Journal of Race, Gender, and Social Justice, demonstrating her commitment to matters of societal importance.  In addition to her academic pursuits, Ms. Shipley volunteered her time and talents with the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, highlighting her dedication to community involvement. Her impressive leadership qualities were further underscored when she hosted the most successful Public Service Auction to date, a testament to her organizational and fundraising skills.  During her time at law school, Ms. Shipley had the privilege of serving as a research and teaching assistant to Professors Allison Orr Larsen and Thomas J. McSweeney, honing her legal research and teaching abilities.

Prior to law school, Ms. Shipley obtained two bachelor’s degrees from Auburn University, majoring in English and History while minoring in French and Theatre. She also pursued a master’s degree in English from the University of Delaware, focusing on Late Victorian Aestheticism, showcasing her commitment to literary and cultural studies.

Outside of her legal work, Ms. Shipley enjoys playing traditional Scottish music with her band, the Good Thymes Ceilidh Band and passionately supporting her favorite soccer team, Liverpool F.C.
