Blount County Youth Court receives Staples Foundation grant

Blount County Youth Court has been awarded a $1,000.00 grant from the Staples Foundation, the private charitable arm of Staples Inc.

The Blount County Youth Court has been operating since 2013 and provides a second chance to first-time, non-violent juvenile offenders who appear before a jury of their peers. High school students from Blount County hear the cases and develop individualized consequences for each youth. Any participant who completes all the requirements of the sentence will have his or her charges dismissed.
