On Thursday, September 15, the Lewis Thomason trial team of Chris W. McCarty and Sallie Neese obtained a defense verdict in a jury trial over First Amendment claims on behalf of their clients, Dr. David Cox and the Sullivan County Board of Education. The trial occurred in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee in Greeneville. Mr. McCarty and Ms. Neese were also supported by other members of the Lewis Thomason team pre-trial, including Janet Hayes, Caitlin Burchette, Jo Anne Cruz, and Paige Reppert.
