Congratulations to Major General Al Harvey who will receive the Judge Pamela L. Reeves Tennessee Professionalism Award from the Tennessee Bar Association (TBA) and Tennessee’s American Inns of Court at the Tennessee Bar Association’s Annual Convention later this month. General Harvey was chosen for his decades of leadership and service to the legal profession. He is a past president of both the Tennessee and Memphis Bar Associations and is the immediate past chair of the American Bar Association’s Senior Lawyers Division. Prior to his law career General Harvey was active duty in the United States Marines. He was active duty until 1964 when he received a scholarship to attend the University of Tennessee College of Law. Upon graduation, General Harvey returned to the Marines as a reservist serving his country faithfully as he began his law career. In 1988, General Harvey returned to active duty to assume command of the 25th Marine Regiment. This was a significant event because it was the first time in approximately 20 years that a member of the Marine Corps Reserve Forces was selected to command a regiment (Ooorah!). We are all very proud of General Harvey’s service to his country, the legal profession, and our firm.
