David Chapman is moderating a panel at the upcoming ALFA International Transportation Practice Group seminar. The recent emergence of naming “upstream” defendants in serious accident claims means that common brokerage and leasing contract terms are more important than ever. David’s panel will discuss best practices for insulating entities such as CMV leasors and freight brokers from both accident and cargo-related litigation that includes a list of “must-have” contractual terms. David, a shareholder in the firm’s Knoxville office, focuses primarily on the defense of local and national transportation companies, brokers, and commercial motor operators. He also works with multiple motor carriers and transportation companies regarding post-accident protocols and FMCSA compliance. David’s practice also has a unique focus on data privacy issues in transportation, including those associated with the retrieval and analysis of data from heavy and light vehicle EDRs.
