Lewis Thomason shareholder Heidi Barcus recently spoke to University of Tennessee surgical residents and fellows about navigating the legal system. For over 25 years, Heidi has represented hospitals, physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals in healthcare liability matters. Heidi is uniquely qualified to counsel her clients having served as a litigator in the courtroom and as in-house counsel. Before joining the firm, Heidi served as staff attorney and assistant general counsel at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, a Level VI trauma center, where she directed the day-to-day legal services of the hospital and advised the hospital administration on health care liability, HIPAA, and employment law.
