Heidi Barcus recently spoke to lawyers representing a national anesthesia company regarding representation of the corporate entity in health care liability claims. Heidi has dedicated her legal career to advocating for healthcare professionals and institutions in the complex arena of healthcare liability. As a shareholder in Lewis Thomason’s Knoxville office, she has established herself as a preeminent figure in the field. Licensed to practice law in both Tennessee and Kentucky, Heidi has successfully defended a wide array of healthcare entities in state and federal courts. Before joining Lewis Thomason, she served as a staff attorney and assistant general counsel at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, a Level IV trauma center. In this role, she directed the day-to-day legal services of the hospital and provided invaluable counsel to the hospital administration on a wide range of legal matters, including healthcare liability, HIPAA compliance, and employment law.
