Lewis Thomason shareholder Heidi Barcus becomes vice-president of the Tennessee Bar Association this week at the TBA’s annual convention. She will advance to the presidency in 2025. Heidi has been active in the Tennessee Bar Association and served as Knoxville Bar Association President in 2013. She is currently the Chair of the Knoxville Bar Foundation’s Board of Directors and Co-Chair of the Archives Committee. Heidi is licensed in Tennessee and Kentucky and has successfully defended regional and local health care facilities, medical practices, long-term care facilities, and insurance companies in state and federal court for over 25 years. She is certified as a specialist in Medical Professional Liability by the American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys. Before joining the firm, Heidi served as staff attorney and assistant general counsel at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, a Level VI trauma center, where she directed the day-to-day legal services of the hospital and advised the hospital administration on health care liability, HIPAA, and employment law.
