Janet S. Hayes has been elected to serve as chair of the Carson-Newman University’s Board of Trustees. Janet began first serving on the board in 2009. She is a 1993 alumna of Carson-Newman.

Janet Hayes, a shareholder in the firm’s Knoxville office, is an advocate for employers and businesses across the state. Ms. Hayes has successfully defended employment claims including sexual harassment, retaliatory discharge, discrimination, workers’ compensation, invasion of privacy and denial of benefits. In addition to her employment law practice, Ms. Hayes is actively involved in complex litigation, including class action and collective action defense.
