Jeff Smith and Kent Francis, shareholders in Lewis Thomason’s Memphis office, have been named Fellows of the Memphis Bar Foundation. The Memphis Bar Foundation is the charitable foundation affiliated with the Memphis Bar Association. Fellows are chosen based on their devoted and distinguished service to the legal profession and the administration of justice and their adherence to the highest standards of professional ethics and personal conduct.
Jeff Smith focuses his practice on litigation and resolution of construction, contract, business, healthcare, and labor and employment disputes. Smith has litigated and arbitrated disputes involving federal, state, and local government projects such as convention centers, schools, military base renovation projects, and interstate highways. He is included in The Best Lawyers in America, and the Memphis Business Quarterly. Smith is a Fellow of the Memphis Bar Foundation, Catholic Bar Association, American Health Law Association, and the Federalist Society, Memphis Lawyers’ Chapter.
Kent Francis focuses his practice primarily on healthcare liability defense, commercial transportation and general liability actions, regularly defending wrongful death and catastrophic injury cases. Being a member of the firm’s rapid response team, Francis frequently assists motor carriers with accident investigation and evaluation. Francis is included in Mid-South Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America. He is a Fellow of the Memphis Bar Foundation, and a member of the Trucking Industry Defense Association and the Memphis and Tennessee Bar Associations.
