Last week Tennessee lawyers representing the state attended the American Bar Association’s Midyear Meeting where shareholder and former Tennessee Bar President John Tarpley led the Tennessee delegation at the meeting. As the state delegate for the Tennessee delegation, John presided over the delegation meetings and co-hosted the Tennessee reception at the meeting for bar leaders. John has served the American Bar Association in many roles. He served as the Chair of the ABA Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section (TIPS) and held four officer level roles in the Section and was a member of the TIPS Council. He was also the chairperson of the committee that created the successful TIPS Leadership Academy. In addition, he has held membership on several standing committees of the American Bar Association, served on the ALI-ABA Board, and served as a member of the ABA Journal Board of Editors.
