Lewis Thomason Lawyers Front and Center at ABA Annual Meeting

Over the past weekend, the American Bar Association held its annual meeting in San Francisco. Lewis Thomason has a long history of leadership for the American Bar Association, and once again this year, a number of LT lawyers were present for the annual meeting.

John Tarpley was attending in his capacity as Chair of the Board of Editors of the ABA Journal, the official publication of the American Bar Association which has the largest circulation of any legal publication in the world.

TBA Vice President Jason Pannu was in attendance for meetings of the National Conference of Bar Presidents and the Southern Conference of Bar Presidents.

General Al Harvey was in attendance as a member of the ABA House of Delegates.

Maggie Cooper was also in attendance at the meeting as a leader of the ABA Torts and Insurance Practice Section.

One of the highlights of this year’s meeting was a reception hosted by the Tennessee Bar Association in honor of a valued member of the LT family, Jonathan Cole. Jonathan is the husband of LT President Lisa Cole, and therefore is the First Gentlemen of LT!

Jonathan was honored at the ABA annual meeting for his leadership over the years for the American Bar Association. Jonathan has served as Chair of the Young Lawyers Division of the ABA and as President-Elect of the American Bar Endowment. A shareholder at Baker Donelson, Jonathan has also served as President of the Nashville Bar Association.

As always, the ABA annual meeting was a family reunion of sorts for LT, and we commend LT lawyers for their legacy of leadership for the American Bar Association.
