Three attorneys have been named shareholder at Lewis Thomason. Two attorneys are based in Nashville, and one in Memphis.
Katherine Kimmel in the firm’s Nashville officefocuses her practice on Education Law. Prior to joining the firm, Kimmel directed state and federal policy for a trade association of childcare businesses. She has experience providing policy analysis in the areas of orthotics and prosthetics, rehabilitative services, early childhood home visiting, and Head Start. Kimmel served as an Associate Cases Editor for the Mississippi Law Journal, worked as a research assistant for Professor William Berry and served as a student attorney for the Child Advocacy Clinic. She is the recipient of the Outstanding Student Award in Contracts, Constitutional Law, Labor and Employment Law, and Administrative Law. She is a member of the Nashville and Tennessee Bar Associations.
Peter Robison is a Supreme Court Rule 31 Mediator in the firm’s Nashville office. Robison’s areas of practice include employment law, personal injury, construction and general civil litigation, estate planning, and probate administration. Robison is fluent in Spanish and often represents Spanish speaking clients. Robison serves as a hearing committee member for the Board of Professional Responsibility for the Supreme Court of Tennessee, is a graduate of the Nashville Bar Foundation Leadership Forum, and is recognized as a Mid-South Super Lawyers Rising Star. He is a member of the American, Nashville, and Tennessee Bar Associations.
Jeff Smith, in the Memphis office, focuses his practice on litigation and resolution of construction, contract, business, healthcare, and labor and employment disputes. Smith represents public and private companies in trial and appellate courts, as well as in arbitration in a wide range of matters, including mass torts, class actions, and multi-district litigation. Among his many professional accomplishments Smith is named to Best Lawyers®, named as a Power Player in Employment law in the Memphis Business Quarterly, and is a recipient of the Tennessee Justice Center’s Pro Bono Attorney of the Year, and ABA Military Pro Bono Project Outstanding Services Award by the American Business Association. He is a member of the American and Catholic Bar Associations, Federalist Society and American Health Law Association.
