Lisa Cole is featured in ALFA International’s March 2, 2018 Friday Feature.
This week’s Friday Feature is not only a managing shareholder at her firm but also the firm’s president. Lisa Cole hails from the Nashville office of ALFA International firm Lewis Thomason. Lisa is an active member of the Labor & Employment, Workers’ Compensation, and Women’s Initiative Practice groups. Thank you for sharing with us, Lisa!
What’s your most memorable ALFA International moment?
I am impressed with what the Women’s Initiative Practice Group has accomplished in the past few years, and I am honored to be a part of that group. My most memorable ALFA moment was sitting on the panel “Beating the Odds” with Dawn Raynor and Agnes Padilla. One of my great passions is helping women lawyers succeed, and I am delighted ALFA International is assisting in that effort as well.
What made you choose to become an attorney?
After college, I was employed by the Tennessee Department of Health and Environment. I worked closely with the agency’s attorneys. I thought their work was more interesting than mine so I decided to go to law school. The rest is history.
What’s something most people don’t know about you?
I am addicted to exercise. I run every day, and I work out with a trainer at least twice a week; it is my escape from my busy life.
What’s your favorite pastime outside of work?
Spending time with my family. I have two children, Anna Grace, a college freshman, is 19 and Ramsay, my son, is 16. My husband, Jonathan, is a busy attorney as well. I have realized the old cliché that your children grow up too fast is actually true. I try to spend as much time with them as possible.
