Lisa Ramsay Cole and Mary Beth White have been named to the Nashville Post’s 2023 In Charge List, an annual list of Nashville’s most influential people.
Lisa Ramsay Cole is the president and managing shareholder of Lewis Thomason. She also serves as managing partner of the firm’s Nashville office and as the firm’s General Counsel handling any ethical and professional responsibility matters for the firm. She is a Supreme Court Rule 31 Mediator and practices in the areas of employment law, professional responsibility, workers’ compensation, and general casualty defense litigation.
Cole is an Advisory Board member of the University of Tennessee College of Law Institute for Professional Leadership, a member of the Dean’s Advisory Board at the Belmont School of Law, and a member of the Board of Trustees of Bethel University. In addition, she is a Trustee of the Nashville Bar Foundation, a Life Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, a Fellow of the Tennessee Bar Foundation, and the Nashville Bar Foundation.
Mary Beth White is a shareholder in the firm’s Nashville office. She is a member of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Transportation Practice Group. She focuses her practice on commercial and business litigation, with a particular emphasis on commercial transportation. She has achieved success at all levels of the court system. She has defended a wide range of clients, including large, medium, and small motor carriers, brokers, public transit systems, and drivers.
White played an instrumental role in implementing the firm’s rapid response program, which is used to protect client’s interests 24/7 in the event of an accident. In 2020 she was invited to join the American College of Transportation Attorneys, a small group of attorneys across the country devoted to the defense of transportation companies.
White is on the Leadership Team, American Law Firm Association (“ALFA”) Transportation Practice Group, a graduate of ABA TIPS National Trial Academy, a member of the American Bar Association, Nashville Bar Association, Tennessee Bar Association, and the Trucking Industry Defense Association.
