LISA RAMSAY COLE NAMED PRESIDENT/MANAGING SHAREHOLDER OF LEWIS KING LAW FIRM

Lisa Ramsay Cole was recently named president and managing shareholder of the law firm Lewis, King, Krieg, and Waldrop, P.C. She became managing partner of the firm’s Nashville office in 2011 and will retain that position as well. An attorney with Lewis King for more than 20 years, Cole has an active law practice in the areas of employment law, workers’ compensation, medical malpractice and general casualty defense litigation.

“Lisa has a proven track record of leadership in our Nashville office,” said Richard W. Krieg, chairman of the board of Lewis King, which has offices in Knoxville, Nashville and Sevierville. “She has been very effective in her role and has received a vote of confidence from the shareholders. We are certain that under her leadership Lewis King will continue to grow and move forward.”

Cole joined Lewis King after her first year of law school and has remained with the firm as an attorney since she graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 1993. Prior to attending law school, she graduated cum laude from Bethel College with a Bachelor of Science degree in natural sciences.

“This appointment is a great honor for me,” said Cole. “Lewis King has provided me with a wealth of experience and direction during my professional career, and I am privileged to have the opportunity to give back to the firm through this leadership role.”

At the firm, Cole’s main area of concentration is complex civil trial litigation in state and federal courts. She also authors treatises and presents educational and training seminars concerning new developments in Tennessee law to her clients in the areas of general employment law, worker’s compensation, and medical malpractice.

Cole is very active in the Nashville civic community where she has chaired various fundraising activities for the Sexual Assault Center, Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital, Centerstone, Belle Meade Plantation, the American Heart Association, the Nashville Public Library, Ensworth School and Harpeth Hall. She is chair of the board of the Sexual Assault Center, a board member of the Nashville Ballet and a past board member of the Junior League of Nashville.

Also active in professional organizations, Cole is a member of the American Bar Association and its Tort and Insurance Practice Section, the Tennessee Bar Association and the Nashville Bar Association. She is a fellow of the Nashville Bar Foundation and is a graduate of Tennessee’s Leadership Law Program.

Cole is married to attorney Jonathan Cole, who is a past president of the Nashville Bar Association. They have a two children, ninth-grader Anna Grace and fifth-grader Ramsay. They reside in the Green Hills/Belle Meade area of Nashville.

Lewis King was founded in 1960 and today has 59 attorneys in its three offices in Nashville, Knoxville and Sevierville.
