Lewis Thomason was proud once again to be a Silver Sponsor of the Vulcan Materials “Make a Break Thru for CF” Sporting Clays Tournament held at the Chilhowee Sportsmen’s Club on April 25 and 26, 2014.  Lewis Thomason also had a team competing in the event.  The team members were:

  1.  John Britton – LT Shareholder in the Knoxville office;
  2.  Foster Arnett – Knox County Clerk;
  3.  Steve Arnett – Senior Vice President of The Trust Company;
  4.  Mackey Brownlee – Owner of Brownlee Realty & Properties; and
  5.  Hugh Nystrom – Director of Program Operations & Development at Childhelp Tennessee.

This is the 12th year for this event.  Lewis Thomason has been a sponsor of this event in some capacity every year since it began.  The event is one of, if not the largest, charity sporting clays tournament in the Southeast.  Over 500 shooters on over 100 teams competed in this event.  It is estimated that this event will raise approximately $175,000 to help fight cystic fibrosis this year.

The event is sponsored by Cure Finders a non-profit organization benefiting cystic fibrosis research.  The director of the organization is Jim Deanda.  Jim is also the Director of Information Services for the City of Sevierville, an important Lewis Thomason client.

Jim has two very important reasons why he works so tirelessly on this and other events throughout the year to raise money for cystic fibrosis research.  Two of his three children have been diagnosed with this disease.
