General Al Harvey and Kevin Baskette successfully defended a Mississippi surgeon in a medical malpractice trial in DeSoto County, Mississippi in July. After deliberations, the jury returned a unanimous verdict in favor of their client, answering “No” to the Court’s Special Interrogatory of whether the Defendant Spurgeon was negligent in his care and treatment of the plaintiff.
The appellate team of David Draper and Paul Whitt obtained a victory in July in an insurance coverage dispute before the Sixth Circuit on behalf of their insurance carrier client. It was a challenging case in w which the employer’s attorneys threw every possible insurance coverage legal and factual argument at David and Paul, but they handled each one to the satisfaction of the district court and now the Sixth Circuit.
In July the trial team of Jerry Mitchell and Chris Sullivan successfully defended a gastroenterologist in a medical malpractice lawsuit. The trial lasted over two weeks. The jury deliberated for 2 hours and 15 minutes before rendering a defense verdict.
