LT Welcomes Summer Associates

We welcome to Lewis Thomason seven summer associates. Joining us in our Memphis office are Claire Rowland, Wes Brown and Jamie Gibber. Joining us in our Knoxville office is Darrius Dixon and Emma Knapp. Joining us in our Nashville office is Ariana Boyd and Titus Willis.

Claire Rowland joins us in the Memphis office and is a rising 3L at the University of Memphis where she is a member of the Association for Women Attorneys and a Peer Mentor for 1Ls. She received her Bachelor of Arts in English at the University of Arkansas where she represented the student body as a member of the Chancellor Search Committee and was a Student Government Association Senator. Last summer Claire had an Externship at the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee.

Wes Brown is a rising 3L at the University of Mississippi School of Law where he is the founding member of both the Interprofessional Education Student Board and Latin Law Students Association. Wes is also a member of the Trial Advocacy Board at Ole Miss. Wes received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from McDaniel College with a specialization in American Politics. While at McDaniel College Wes was the Head Delegate for the Model United Nations. He is proficient in Spanish and volunteered as a translator during the 2016 presidential election. In addition, Wes is the co-author of a food blog: HottyToddy.com.

Jamie Gibber is a joint JD-MBA candidate at the University of Memphis where she is president of the Jewish Law Student Association and a member of the Association for Women Attorneys. Jamie received her Bachelor of Arts in Education from Hebrew Theological College where she was co-founder of the Education Department Mentoring Program. Jamie studied abroad in Jerusalem, Israel during her time at Hebrew Theological College and is proficient in Hebrew.

Darrius Dixon now calls Clarksville, Tennessee home. He graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and Homeland Security. After college he served for two years as a police officer at MTSU and, while there he completed the Regional Law Enforcement Training Academy at Walters State Community College in December 2017. Among his other varied jobs and interests, Darrius worked for the NFL Tennessee Titans as a Game Day Performer at Nissan Stadium from 2016 to 2019.

Emma Knapp is originally from the State of Washington. She graduated from Lindenwood University (St. Charles, MO.) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 2017. Following graduation she was selected to join Teach for America and she served for two years as a teacher in the Shelby County Schools before starting law school. Emma was a member of the Lindenwood University Women’s Rugby team that placed 1st at the USA 7s National Championship in 2017. She later coached the Memphis Inner City Rugby Club from 2017 to July 2019.

Ariana Boyd joins us again this summer and is a rising 3L at Vanderbilt University where she is a member of the Vanderbilt Bar Association, Energy and Environmental Law Society, Women’s Law Student Association, and Vanderbilt Institute for Energy and Environment. Ariana received her Bachelor of Arts in Geology at Colby College and her Master of Science in Earth and Planetary Sciences at the University of Tennessee. Ariana is professionally fluent in Spanish and can read Biblical Hebrew.

Titus Willis joins us this year from Duke University School of Law. He is a rising 3L and is a member of the Duke Law First Generation Professionals, North Carolina Bar Association Young Lawyers’ Division, Business Law Society, Duke Law SBA, and North Carolina Club. He received his Bachelor of Arts in English and Political Science from Columbia University.
