Marty Regan, Shareholder in Lewis Thomason’s Memphis office, received The Rev. John J. Cavanaugh, C.S.C. Award from the University of Notre Dame Alumni Association in Notre Dame, Indiana. Established in 1985, this award is conferred on an alum who is performing outstanding service in the field of government, patriotism, public service, or local, state, and national politics.
Regan serves as the Senior Staff Attorney to the City of Memphis. He is General Counsel to the Southern College of Optometry, General Counsel and Planned Giving Director to Community Foundation of Greater Memphis. He is a Director of the Memphis Grizzlies Foundation, Memphis Land Bank, Inc., and Alpha Omega Veterans Services, Inc.
Regan has received several honors, including the Edward F. Barry Award, the National Conference for Justice Humanitarian Award, and The Commercial Appeal’s “Sportsman of the Year” award for leading the pursuit of the Memphis Grizzlies’ relocation from Vancouver, and the Tennessee Association of Mental Health Organizations (TAMHO) Frank G. Clement Community Service Award. He is named to The Best Lawyers in America® and named a Best Lawyers® Lawyer of the Year in Memphis.
Regan has been a trusted advisor to mayors, bishops, and numerous non-profits, often providing pro bono legal services. He played a key role in the revival of Jubilee Schools, an initiative focused on reopening inner-city Catholic schools. He is a member of the National Catholic Diocesan Attorney’s Association and the American, Memphis, and Tennessee Bar Associations.
