MEET THE BARRISTER – LISA COLE

A periodic Q & A session with a Lewis Thomason (LT) lawyer

LT: When did you decide to become a lawyer?
Lisa Cole: Two years after I graduated from college. I was working for the Tennessee Department of Health and Environment. I worked closely with the department attorneys. I thought their work was more interesting than mine.

LT: What has been your greatest challenge as an attorney?
Lisa Cole: Not enough hours in the day.

LT: You are stranded on a desert island, what music are you listening to?
Lisa Cole:  Like Cheryl Estes, I am no listening to music. But I’m not looking for sporting events on a radio either. I am frantically collecting rocks to spell the word HELP in hopes of being rescued.

LT: What do you want your legacy to be?
Lisa Cole:  That I led this firm with care, vision, and compassion and always tried to do the right thing.

LT: What is one thing on your bucket list and why?
Lisa Cole: Travel to Santorini, Greece. I love the beautiful blue waters of the Mediterranean in contrast with the all-white buildings.

LT: What motivates you?
Lisa Cole:  My children and my partners.

LT: What famous person do you admire and why?
Lisa Cole: Jesus Christ. He always did the right thing and served those in need.
