Natalie Bursi has been presented the Sam A. Myar, Jr. Memorial Award by the Memphis Bar Association. This award, given in memory of Sam A. Myar, Jr., who served his community so well, is presented annually to a young attorney (40 or younger) in recognition of his or her outstanding personal service rendered to the legal profession in Memphis and Shelby County and to the community.
Bursi is a shareholder in Lewis Thomason’s Memphis office, where she concentrates her practice on health care liability/medical malpractice defense, employment litigation, and insurance defense litigation. She represents hospitals, physicians, medical providers, employers, and insured professionals in a wide range of complex civil matters. Ms. Bursi has assisted in trying civil cases to verdict in both Tennessee state and federal courts, has obtained successful results for her clients in appellate courts, and is known for her meticulous preparation, strong courtroom skills, and commitment to achieving efficient, strategic outcomes for her clients.
Bursi is actively engaged in the legal community and has been recognized for her professional achievements, leadership, and advocacy. She is a Fellow of the Memphis Bar Foundation and has been included in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America™ for Medical Malpractice Law – Defendants. She is a member of the Leo Bearman, Sr. American Inn of Court and has held leadership roles throughout the Memphis Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, culminating in her service as President in 2019. She also served on the Memphis Bar Association Board of Directors and its Executive Committee.
Her work has earned numerous academic and professional distinctions, including recognition as a Mid-South Super Lawyers® Rising Star, the Dean’s Award for Excellence (Best Oral Advocate), the Herbert Herff Law Review Scholarship, and multiple CALI Awards for Excellence.
