T.J. Smith, formerly of New Market and an Eagle Scout with Troop 76 in Jefferson City, was honored December 3 at the Jefferson City Senior Center. Smith had earned his Eagle badge landscaping around the Senior Center in 2004. He also put up the Center’s sign and cleaned their picnic tables. His work was never forgotten and when director Brenda Hedrick received a donation of a wooden sculpture from member Ginger Curran, she knew exactly what to do with it. Making the presentation of the carved Scout salute to T. J. Smith was Bud Smith, former Scoutmaster and current board member and advisor to Troop 76. –See the article in the Jefferson County Standard Banner by Ronnie Housley
