Tennessee Bar Association Convenes in Memphis…and it’s an LT Affair!

The Tennessee Bar association held its annual meeting in Memphis…home of Elvis Presley, B.B. King, Justin Timberlake, Graceland, the National Civil Rights Museum, the Bass Pro Pyramid …. and Lewis Thomason’s Memphis office!

Bill Haltom was the moderator for the “TBA Book Show.” Joining Bill for the book show were Judge Rhynette Hurd, Chancellor Carol McCoy, Judge Chris Craft, Sherie Edwards of State Volunteer Mutual Insurance Company, Judge Brandon Gibson of the Tennessee Court of Appeals, and Shelby County Juvenile Court Judge Dan Michael.

At the annual TBA President’s Luncheon, a member of the Lewis Thomason family received a well-deserved award. Claudia Swafford Haltom, retired Shelby County Juvenile Court Magistrate and spouse of Bill Haltom, received the William Leech Public Service Award. This award, named in honor of late Attorney General Bill Leech, is presented each year to a Tennessee lawyer for distinctive achievements in serving the public.

John Tarpley let the commencement exercises for the 2015 Tennessee Bar Leadership Law Class. John was one of the founders of this outstanding leadership group and has been a moving force for “T-Ball” over the years.

Attending the convention in leadership capacities from Lewis Thomason was Jason Pannu, Secretary of the TBA and Sarah Sheppeard and Brian Faughnan, members of the TBA Board of Governors.
