On May 9th, Weslen Lakins will speak at BSides Knoxville, East Tennessee’s premier cybersecurity conference, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. His presentation, “Liability Landmines: How Lax Security Measures Can Put Your Business in the Legal Crosshairs,” will discuss how seemingly minor oversights in access control and data protection can expose businesses to crippling liability, and will outline practical steps to minimize risk.  BSides Knoxville is a community-driven cybersecurity conference held each May. As part of the broader Security BSides network, it offers an affordable, grassroots venue for both newcomers and seasoned professionals. It’s organized by 10-Sec, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that also supports local OWASP, DEFCON, ISSA, and ISC2 chapters.
