William A. Mynatt, Jr., Lewis Thomason Shareholder, Elected to Knoxville Bar Association Board of Governors

William A. (Bill) Mynatt, Jr., a Shareholder in Lewis Thomason’s Knoxville office, has been elected to the Knoxville Bar Association’s Board of Governors. The Knoxville Bar Association serves more than 2000 members with an eighteen-member Board of Governors. All policies and programs are either developed or overseen by the Board of Governors.

Mynatt’s practice emphasizes courtroom and pretrial litigation, primarily representing parties in domestic relations matters, but also including personal injury, worker’s compensation, and probate matters. Mynatt is a firm believer that parties can do a better job resolving issues without the court, but that being well-prepared and willing to go to the courtroom makes such a resolution more likely.  Mynatt has been a Tennessee Supreme Court certified civil mediator since 2005 and has mediated many family law cases to resolution.  Mynatt also provides estate planning advice, especially in areas of nontraditional families. He is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association and the Knoxville Bar Association and has served as the Co-Chairman of the Family Law Section of the Knoxville Bar Association.  Among his many professional accomplishments, Mynatt is a Master of the Bench, Emeritus, with the Hamilton S. Burnette American Inn of Court and a Fellow of the Knoxville Bar Foundation since 2012.  He has also been named a Named a Cityview Magazine Top Attorney in Family
