The Virtual Tennessee Personal Injury Conference was held this week, and Lewis Thomason’s Justin Joy and George Scoville both presented at the conference. Justin discussed Recent Developments Impacting Social Media and ESI in Litigation and George provided an overview and refresher of commonly asserted product liability claims in Tennessee.

Congratulations to Natalie Bursi who graduated from the New Memphis Fellows program this week. The New Memphis Fellows program is the premiere community-wide leadership development experience for leaders in Memphis. The year-long leadership class included a community action project the second half of the year. 

Laura Deakins participated in a CLE panel this week as part of the Litigation Law Fall Forum. Two Tennessee supreme court justices, a Tennessee court of appeals judge, and respected appellate practitioners from across the state discussed critical appellate practice points relating to issue preservation, briefing, and oral argument presentation, as well as developing issues. 

We are excited to announce that Jamie Gibber and Malik Luckett have joined the Memphis office of Lewis Thomason. Jamie and Malik attended the University of Memphis School of Law and clerked for the firm last year.

Ryan Shannon, a 2021 graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Law, joins Lewis Thomason. Ryan will be in the Knoxville Office. Ryan was Secretary of Vols for Veterans in his 2L year and President of Vols for Veterans in his 3L year. Ryan also participated in the Christian Legal Society.
